PROFILE
Shanky Radics is a professional Kenyan Dancehall / Pop artiste (musician). Shanky is most well known for his hit singles and thrilling performances across East Africa. He is also an avid social networking fan, most prominently on Facebook and Twitter.

Shanky started doing music at a tender age of 11 years back in primary school. The passion for music started growing stronger and stronger in him when he was pursuing his O – Level studies. He was inspired by his role models Shaggy, Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Shabba Ranks, Super Cat, Bounty Killer, Beenie Man, Sean Paul, Fela Kuti to list but a few.
At his teenage he used to visit clubs such as Florida, Kengele’s, Zigzag and New York in Nairobi city to participate in their music competitions. In 1999 and 2000, he managed a battle out MCs at Florida and won “The Best Dance Hall Artiste” title. 
 
In the year 2000, he met Redsan, Lyrical Erico and Kidush, together they formed a group popularly known as One 11 Moja. They managed to record some dancehall hits such as Mabeste, Chakacha, Amanda and Omuhana. The songs were recorded at Sync Sounds (The studios that brought up artistes such as Hardstone, Kalamashaka and Shad 0 Blak). He performed with the group for two years before parting ways.

He has done collaborations with Ugandan multitalented artiste Jose Chameleon and Shanks Vividie in a song called Number One. In 2004, he collaborated with Bombshell and came up with biggest dancehall song in the country 'Bambika'. Bambika’s video received massive air play across East and Central Africa which was enormous boost to his music career.

Shanky shared stage with the famous Jamaican dancehall artiste Sean Paul during “Everblazing Concert” at Carnivore grounds. He performed alongside UK’s dancehall great – Apache Indian in 2008. He also curtain raised for the Jamaican dancehall boy group T.O.K during the Nairobi concert at Carnivore grounds.
In 2009, he shared the same stage with Nigerian boy group P Square during the Zain concert. Recently, Shanky received “Golden Mic Award” for being one of the pioneers in the Kenyan music industry.

On 27-9-2011, he was one of the artists who performed at Uhuru Park for Kenyans4Kenya grand concert which was raising funds for Kenyans stricken by hunger in the North Eastern Province of Kenya.

Shanky has worked with Ida Odinga, the wife to the Kenya’s former Prime Minister Raila Odinga in his Presidential campaign lobby team “Sibanduki”.

Shanky is currently working on his debute album titled “Kenyan Gold” which includes hit tracks such as Bambika, All night long, Matamshi yako, Umenimaliza, Pumpum, Leo ni leo, Mama Africa among others. Shanky Tries (does) music that appeals to all classes, races, and ages of people, which he calls “timeless music” , music that can be passed from one generation to the other, music that entertains , educates and elevates, music that soothes and uplift human soul be in any weather, any condition , or anywhere.
Shanky also sees himself as the voice of the society – he voices out and speaks for the voiceless be in the social issues, love issues , political issues, domestic issues e.t.c through his music.


Shanky Radics has a dream, a dream to take his Afro – Pop Dancehall music to the International level, nurture fresh talent and also promote happiness, equal rights and justice amongst mankind.
